Equine Veterinary Assistant/Technician
John R. Steele and Associates is seeking a veterinary assistant or technician to work alongside Dr. Timothy Ober and his team!
We are an equine sports medicine based practice that provides top level care to sport horses at the highest level of sport in the disciplines of show hunters, show jumping, and dressage. Applicants who match this role should have an interest in equine sports medicine, attention to detail, and the ability to work well independently as well as in a team setting.
Dr. Ober is based out of Wellington, FL from late November to mid April and Gordonsville, VA for the remainder of the year with some travel in between.
Position responsibilities:
Daily organization of appointments
Driving and maintaing vet trucks
Assisting with examinations; jogging, lunging, and restraining horses.
Preparing laboratory samples
Preparing equipment and assisting with diagnostic imaging
Qualifications or desire skills:
Two years of equine industry experience
Valid / Clean drivers license
Knowledge of basic equine anatomy
Attention to detail and ability to follow directions
